IPMS-Seattle is the Seattle Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society. We are a group of approximately 140+ model builders who meet once a month, have a fun time socializing, and sharing with one another what we are working on, what we have completed in the past, what we plan to complete in the future, and sharing techniques used to achieve final results. The goal of most members is to improve their modeling skills and to mentor others. Through learning from the successes of other members, teaching what they have discovered while building their own models to others, or simply by building models more frequently and learning-by-doing, members constantly learn new techniques and improve existing ones, all the while developing their own mastery of model building.

Although the club is a chapter of the International Plastic Modeler Society, first and foremost it is about the skill of modeling. If you are a Model Railroad fan, for instance, and build models from balsa, bass wood, and paper mâché, in the end it is all about the skill of modeling, of making a scale representation of an object or event, and making it come to life!
